Talking with Police and others about Youth Justice Communication

Our pilot project on oral language and youth justice with Oranga Tamariki staff had a session with YJ stakeholders yesterday, including Police YouthAid, Drug and Counsellors, staff from  specialist youth service providers. The Youth Justice Social Workers and Family Group Conference YJ Coordinators we have been collaborating with talked about and demonstrated how they have been adapting their communication with young people and their families and showed off some of the visual tools that have been created. We had a few short videos and each person left with a small set of cards to prompt them to think about communication in their context. We are working on developing these cards so they can be available to download and print in high resolution. 2 part small card behaviour
